Sarah and her sisters
A cohesive cover design series created for the Lebanese American University (LAU), published by Hachette Antoine, highlighting three major works documenting the university’s institutional and human journey: From Village to Presidential Suite: Sarah and Her Sisters: American Missionary Pioneers in Arab Female Education, 1834–1937 by Robert D. Stoddard Jr., From College to University: The Meteoric Rise of LAU by Dr. Marwan Iskandar and My Life’s Journey by Joseph G. Jabbra. The visual concept unifies the trilogy through a shared palette of historical textures, handwritten archival overlays, and sepia tones, evoking legacy, memory, and progress. Each cover narrates a different facet of LAU’s history — from its early missionary roots to its academic rise and leadership evolution — while maintaining a consistent editorial identity across the series. Photography, collage, and aged-paper layers were harmonized to reflect both authenticity and prestige, positioning the trilogy as a collector’s edition celebrating LAU’s centennial heritage. Deliverables: cover and spine design for three titles, layout coordination, image retouching, and print production supervision.
